CTK NAIROBI MINISTRY: SHALOM CHRISTIAN OUTREACH FOUNDATION PROJECT By Gideon Mashauri

SHALOM CHRISTIAN OUTREACH FOUNDATION PROJECT Ref. verses: John 14:27, “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid “(LASB). Isaiah 9:6, “For the child is born of us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (LASB). The vision Statement of S.C.O.F: “A dynamic Outreach movement that aim to unfold the purpose and peace plan that God has for the unreached people group, enabling them to reach their potential and identity in Christ as they grow together in a Biblical Local Church that multiply herself for God’s glory.” The mission Statement of S.C.O.F: To glorify God by providing quality spiritual awareness about Islam in orphanages, Sunday school children classes, Churches… This will be done through seminars of peace with God, with ourselves and our neighbors, preservation and promoting godly character for sustainable holistic transformation of individual and society among the unreached people group. As we have learnt more from Church history, we have realizing that Islam was one of the great threats to Christianity. It aims at dominating the whole world with its beliefs. In the current situation all around the world, we continue seeing the same plan at work. Mostly the way Islam spread is through Jihad, the killing of those who are against its beliefs, and through many other ways. Wesley Snaggletooth states that, “The Quran explicitly and repeatedly commands Muslims to ‘kill the unbelievers wherever you find them’ (e .g, 2:191, 9:5). ‘Strike off their heads’ (e.g., 8:12, 47:4), make sex slaves of their wives and daughters (e.g., 2:24, 3…)” All this is to intimidate those who refuse to convert to Islam. One day as I was interacting with a friend from Africa Inland Church Dodoma/ Tanzania, he told me that, in Dodoma, Muslims are sponsoring young Muslims to have sex with Christian ladies, so that they may get pregnant and the child who will be born from them, will be automatically given Islamic name, meaning that he/she is born to be a Muslim and they directly train him/her in what they believe. The other strategy they are using is to provide Christian men with jobs and get married to their beautiful daughters so that at the end of the day, these men will be obliged to embrace Islam. Also, as they remember the birthday of Muhammad (Maulid), they do what they call Guarida, to train Children and young men with swords and machettes on how to kill those who are not Muslims, saying the killing of the Kafiri (those who are not Muslims), is the way Muhammad spread Islam around the world and it is of great reward before Allah. So, this is a life project that many Muslim Children have to kill a Kafiri (non-Muslim). As I did my research about Africa, their great concentration is on the African continent so that they may have natural and human resources from Africa to reach the rest of the world. Nairobi being the center of all the African secular and Christian non-governmental organizations is a great target to them. That is why in 2010, as the Kenyan new constitution was lounged, they insisted that in it, they should have kadhis-court, to defend the cause of their religion at the national level. To me, as Muslims are powerful in the Kenyan politic and some non-governmental organizations, they can affect the entire country in their plan to conquer Africa. I praise God that, He has opened an opportunity for my family and I to start serving in Nairobi under Christ The King Community Church. As a leader of Missions and evangelism, under CTK, I am thinking of having my reaching out focus on participate on preventing Islam to continue expanding and also reach out to those who have been already hooked in it, through the Shalom Christian Outreach Foundation Project (SCOF project). Since Muslims call themselves the religion of peace, in my experience, working among Muslims in Kondoa/ Tanzania for two and half years, I realized that there is no peace at all in the life of those who call themselves Muslims, rather they are under great oppression, to fulfill the duty that their religion impose on them. They seem at peace in public places, but when you meet with them one on one, they will reveal to you the truth of what is going on deep inside their hearts. I heard one Muslim friend telling me; during Ramadan that Allah is punishing us not having food for 30 days. This means that they are performing their duty under great oppression. The following are ways that the SCOF project will be operating to prevent Islam and reach out to those under it: 1) Giving Islamic awareness to orphans at their Children Homes: This is due to the fact that these kids have been wounded by what they have gone through and are ready to accept any plan of killing someone. Muslims use the training of children to prepare them for their jihad war against Christians. These orphans need to know who is a Muslim, How to love Him, How to share the gospel with Him and at the same time be careful, not to be trapped by Him. Having this program will allow us to minister to many existing orphanages around the country as our mean will allow us. 2) Children Sunday School teachings about Islam, knowing what they belief, not fearing them at the point of accepting their beliefs, how to share the gospel with them, which is expressed by our love to them. 3) Organizing seminars in Churches about the awareness of Muslims and how to love them and reach them with the gospel at the point of helping them to be good disciples of Jesus Christ. 4) Using Muslim Back Ground Believers (MBB) to share their testimonies and seek ways to help Muslims who have received Christ and are under persecution. 5) Organize strategic prayer teams for Muslims and confusing their plans in prayer. 6) Planting as many Churches as possible to care for those who have given their lives to Christ. 7) Create small micro-finance (small project) for self sustainability of those we disciple. 8) Partnership with other mission organizations that reach to Muslims. In order to fulfill this, we will need the following items: 1) We need a missions and evangelism department office. 2) Outreach funds to facilitate all our programs. 3) Volunteer teams that have the burden for Muslims and are able to teach seminars on how to reach them in all our targeted places. Suggested Budget: Outreach activities around orphanages and in villages: $1500 Office rental payment: $100 per month. Church planting: $ 2000 General total: $3600 P.S: Those who will be willing to support us can straightly communicate with JW Ragsdale through his email ( jwr@q.com), then he will communicate with CTK headquarters to send us the funds we need.

CTK Nairobi 1st Anniversary Celebration

PASTOR’S DESK

This far the Lord has brought us he is Ebenezer. It has taken persistent prayers, endurance and in most cases a big faith to go through this year. We have all reasons to thank God for the growth that we have experienced even though it has taken place at a lower pace but if we look back to March last year, then we can say that He is faithful. This is also the year that we have been blessed by three little girls (Joy Natasha, Young Daniela and the Young Marylyn) and that symbolizes growth. We have also seen young people coming up and dedicating their lives to the work of the kingdom.

The 11th April 2010 was a great day. It was a great joy to see brothers come from different churches to join us in celebrating the big day. The praises and music all exalted God and above all the word of God that came through his servant Pst. Vitalis Okoth about the three levels of Christianity. We are looking forward to launch deep into the community and affect as many lives as possible thus winning them to Christ.

The greatest prayer item that we have for this year is that God may provide us with a suitable place of worship. If possible, a piece of land where we can build our own temporary structure so that we can worship him always without restrictions.

We thank God for all those who offered any support to us. Financial, moral and most important those who tirelessly prayed for us. May the good Lord do you good.
Amen.
Yours in Christ,
